Linggo ng Wika Celebration: Ang Huling El Bimbo

Ito na ang huling linggo ng wika ng mga seniors kaya ibinigay namin ang aming lahat para mapaganda at mapasaya ang aming selebrasyon.

Ang costume ng mga Seniors ay biblical characters. Nagcostume ako ng isang anghel. Haha!

3/5 ng Voltes V kasama si Bossing Khitz!

Ang namuno sa mga palaro ay ang Voltes V o ang Batch Rep at mga Section Heads — kami nila Annika, Suki, Gem at Shine.

Ang una naming palaro ay ang relay. Ang bawat section ay may 5 mag-aaral at dalawang guro. Sa loob ng 5 minuto ay paramihan ng malalagay na tubig sa bote gamit lamang ang plastic spoon.

Ang nanalo dito ay ang Section 1 kasama nila Ginoong Bohol at Ginoong Bugnosen.

Ang pangalawang laro ay ang Arte Mo na kinuha mula sa Showtime. May mga tanong tungkol sa pelikula at may apat na choices. Pipiliin ng mga maglalaro ay tamang sagot.

Ang mga section heads na game na game umacting!! Good job guys!! :)

Naging ganito ka-competitive ang mga seniors at nagdomino effect sila.

Pagkatapos ng mga laro ay nagsalu-salo na ang lahat.

Kasama rin namin ang A-Team at mga sisters.

Ang IV-3 ay sumample kung pano bumirit.

Kumanta sila ng Papa Cologne at inihandog ito kay Ginoong Manalang. Haha!

Kinanta rin nila ang Ligaya at ang Huling El Bimbo.

Pagkatapos nito ay nagsimula na ang Biritan. Nauna si Mima Cruz ng section 4.

Sumunod si Gliyam Cundangan ng section 1

Pangatlo si Judith Naranjilla ng Section 3

At panghuli si Bea Gonzaga ng section 2

Pagkatapos nito ay naglaro na kami ng Hampas Palayok. May limang palayok para sa lahat ng section at para sa mga guro.

Maraming salamat kay Ginoong Bugnosen sa pagsigurado na walang taong mahahampas kahit na siya ay puting puti na. Hahaha!

Ang panghuli ay ang awarding ceremony para sa mga may Pinaka Natatanging Kasuotan.

Sa section 1 ay si Corn Golez

Sa section 2 ay sila Bea Gonzaga at Chelsea Catipon

Sa section 3 ay si Stefi Carpio

Sa section 4 ay si Yna Soriano

Sabi nga nila save the best for last. Ito na ang pinakamasayang Linggo ng Wika sa AA! Nagkasaya ang lahat at nagka-isa ang mga Seniors!

17 AGAIN

Since this was my last birthday with my high school friends, I decided to celebrate and treat them! Hahaha!

We went to Redbox in Eastwood and sang all our hearts out. We were in Room 17! Double meaning! I’m 17 years old and Chris Tiu’s jersey number is 17. Hahaha!

We also had a mini program where they gave me their birthday message and I opened their gifts.

Birthday Week: Relief Operations

It was my birthday week and classes were suspended because of the Habagat. Some say it’s MOMOL weather but I say it’s HOHOL weather. Help out help out lang.

DAY 1

Conception Bound

I went to school to bring donations and help out with the relief goods. One team was going to Immaculate Conception which was very near my place so I volunteered to go with them. I was with Sir Johnny and Sir Nelson. We brought the relief goods to the church and stayed at the office while waiting for the other team who went to San Mateo. We didn’t have quality photos. We just used our phones. Haha! We called ourselves Team Mona because our contact person’s name was Mona. Haha! :))

DAY 2

Taytay Bound

I went to school again to help deliver relief goods to places that were affected by the Habagat. I was sent to Taytay together with Jeri, Alex, Kuya Noel and Sir Sen. We rode the LBC truck! Hari ng padala! Haha! There was still flood in the place that we went to.

DAY 3

Talim Bound

On the last day of the relief operations, we went to Talim Island. I was with some teachers, manongs and old girls. First we waited for our boat at the shore.

After the long wait, our boat finally arrived!

The boat ride was around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

When we got there the place was still flooded. Their covered court became an indoor pool. We had to ride another boat to get to the place where there was no flood.

We distributed packed food to those whose houses were still flooded.

This is one experience that I will never forget. This old woman’s house was really flooded and I had to cross that tree trunk to be able to give the packed food.

After that, Father Von prepared merienda for us.

We went back already and the boat ride was so fun! Haha! Time for a photoshoot!

This was probably the most fulfilling birthday ever — helping out and having fun. Instead of giving out loot bags, I gave out relief goods. It felt so good to be able to help and share your blessings to those in need.

Teachers' Day 2012

The day when the teachers took a break from teaching and the student teachers took over the classroom.

I was assigned to be Ms. Frances. I wore polo, slacks and flats. People said that I was really like her. But sadly I didn’t have a picture.

The theme for the Teachers’ Day was children’s party. The teachers had to be like little children and wear children’s clothes. The SCAA had a family with Daddy Andie, Mommy Tricia, Mendong, Waldo and of course Yaya Mariel. We also had our very own clowns, Corny/Hera and AFRO-dite. Gaby and I were the clowns. We introduced ourselves as Hera and Aphrodite because of the prom hangover which happened the weekend before this. We just realized afterwards that Aphrodite was perfect because Gaby’s hair was afro. Ate Mariel preferred Corny the Clown for me. It was my first time to host in front of the teachers and to be a clown.

After the mass, we had a program at the Mini-Theater. Students from different levels performed for the teachers. It also had a bit of comedy because every time there was a problem we would call on Yaya Mariel to fix it.

Here’s Gaby and I eerrr Corny/Hera and AFRO-dite hosting with our very big cue cards. I had my costume made in the market. Career! And Gaby improvised hers. I looked like the funny clown and AFRO-dite looked like the fashionista clown.

Here’s a funny moment. I went to a kid and asked her what she wants to tell the teachers. She was just quiet so I whispered to her ear, “Happy Teachers’ Day!” Then she said it. Good thing she wasn’t afraid of the clown.

After the program we went to the Multi-Purpose Building for lunch and parlor games. There was also a photobooth.

Here’s Mommy, Daddy and Mendong.

We played “Bring Me.” We asked for the most beautiful teacher and Sir Andie brought his wife, Ms. Michelle! Sweet!

Then we asked for the most handsome teacher. Ms. Nen brought Sir Louie and Sir Khitz brought himself.

We also played “The Longest Happy Teachers’ Day with a Twist” The participants had to inhale helium from a balloon which made their voices squeak.

Here’s our SCAA moderator, Ms. Layna. Look at Megan laughing hard in the background. Haha!

And the winner was Sir Nelson with the longest time.

I had fun being a clown. There were also perks in being a clown. Hahaha! This experience may be once in a life time. Well, not unless I become a professional clown when I grow up. Hmmmmnnnnn…. baka puwedeng sideline muna.

LOVE Week

Decided to blog again. Blogging best in late award. :)

It’s the time to thank our teachers and make them feel special! Before the Teachers’ Day, we celebrated LOVE Week (Loving Our Valuable Educators). For each day, the students had to do something for their teachers and teacher counterpart. I was assigned to be the counterpart of Ms. Frances, our class adviser, since I was the batch representative. I was happy to be assigned to her because we were really close. We spent time working together for this school year.

1. Monday – Telegram Day
Surprise them with random notes of thanks/love throughout the day.

I posted post-its on the stair wall going up the 4th floor that says “Good morning Ms. Frances! Enjoy your day!” I also asked the Juniors to write short notes for her. I compiled them and made them look like a telegram.

2. Tuesday – Serenade Day
Put on small presentations for the teachers. You may recite a poem, sing, or dance.

Since my hidden talent in singing should stay hidden, I posted post-its again on the stair wall with the lyrics of Fix You by Coldplay. “Lights will guide you home and ignite your bones. And I will try to fix you.” After the morning talk, the Juniors sang that song for her.

3. Wednesday – Affirmation Day
Give sashes/ribbons to your respective counterparts with their best trait/s written on them. Encourage your counterparts to wear them all day!

I gave her a BAT-MOM sash after the morning talk. She wore it for the whole day.

4. Thursday – Big Gesture Day
Deliver homemade presents such as baked goods to your teachers or do even simple things such as carrying their bags for them

I left a bag of chocolates on her table.

5. Friday – Lunch Together Day
Have lunch with your counterparts. You may bring potluck or desserts. During this time, also ask the teacher to write their prayers on a piece of paper and these will then be offered during the mass.

My friends and I arranged a lunch date for our teacher counterparts. I cooked Charlie Chan Pasta. The others brought pizza, chicken and maki. The teachers were fun to be with. We shared lots of stories with each other.

Wacky time! Well only Sir Mayuga did a wacky pose. Haha!

After that I had to rush to my classroom because my class started the Chemistry test 20 minutes before the time. I was late but I was able to do it.

I will never regret the time I had together with these people. Quality time. :)

Kallisti which means to the most beautiful was the title of our Juniors’ Night.

My date was Enzo Cruz. He’s a senior in Ateneo and our family friend.

Corsage and Boutonniere Ceremony

Here’s the physical set up of our prom with the Greek theme.

All of our decorations were made by the Juniors and they were made from recycled materials.

Here’s the chandelier made out of tansan.

We were at Table 30 which was the table of Portunes, the god of keys. We were with Karlo & Eula, Keith & Andi, Fonso & Julia and Raffy & Ila.

We won the Zeus and Hera award, aka King and Queen. Here’s the description of the award, “We are honored to award the Zeus and Hera award to the couple who not only possess great power like Zeus and Hera but more so possesses a great and kind heart. The couple embodied a respectable, courteous, and perfect pair. They effortlessly personified Zeus and Hera throughout the night.”

I was really touched with Enzo’s answer when Andrei asked him what he felt. He said something like “She deserves it because she worked hard for this.” I didn’t expect that from him. I was really surprised when he said that. Indeed I was with the right Zeus.

The crowns were made by my batchmate, Stefi Carpio. She used wires, cartons and spray paint.

Then it was time for the lantern flying at the soccer field. We had our own lantern to fly and we were at the center of the field.

I really love this shot. It reminds me of the movie, Tangled.

We had the Zeus and Hera dance. It was a bit awkward because it was just the two of us at the dance floor and everyone was looking. We danced to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. It was my first slow dance. Enzo was telling me not to cry. Haha!

I gave my closing remarks and thanked all the people who made this possible.

This night showed the Juniors’ true beauty. It taught us to be women for others by helping address the reality in our own special way. As a fruit of this commitment, we went out of our comfort zones to be able to give comfort to others. By cutting down our prom expenses, we were able to save the amount of P23,000. The Year III Batch 2011-2012 would like to offer this amount as a symbol of fulfilling our commitment to being women for others. This will be used in purchasing school supplies for students who have been affected by the typhoon Sendong. May they be inspired to continue their education despite the difficulties brought about by the calamity. Through this, our Juniors’ Night became truly meaningful.

With our host, Ms. Michelle and our Programs teacher counterpart, Sir Khitz. We were honored to have Ms. Michelle as our host. She was our class adviser in Gr. 4 and Gr. 7. She really saw our transformation from young girls to young ladies. She was the one who gave me self confidence. She’s the reason why I am where I am now. If not for her then I’d still be that quiet and shy student. She’s also a proud mommy. And of course we were also honored to have Sir Khitz, fresh from Tagaytay, to be with us and facilitate the program. He’s my kuya and bestie. Haha!

With my bestfriend, Danica and her date Alonso. He was with us when we had our trip to China.

With Sir Khitz and Ms. Frances, our class adviser. Ms. Frances was really there to guide us during the preparations. She was there during my ups and downs. It was a pleasure working with her and I will definitely miss her.

I would like to thank Enzo Cruz for being my prom date. Thank you for making this night special and memorable. You’re the perfect Zeus. Hope to hang out with you soon!

Kallisti is definitely one of the best nights in my life and I will never forget this night!
